Industry: Satellite Communications
Company Size: 10,000+

Client Intro

The client is a global technology leader building a next-generation low Earth orbit satellite communications network to extend reliable broadband connectivity to residential, enterprise, government, and mobility markets. Its commercial ecosystem includes Salesforce Communications Cloud, enterprise quoting, product configuration, pricing, approvals, order orchestration, and downstream service integrations.

With an aggressive launch timeline, the client needed to rapidly implement and validate agent-assisted quote-to-order journeys. Testing was entirely manual, making regression slow and delaying release decisions. Since the organization had no established automation practice, it selected ACCELQ to build a scalable automation foundation that could be adopted and maintained by its internal QA team without extensive programming expertise.

Business Objectives

The client wanted to accelerate Salesforce Communications Cloud releases by replacing lengthy manual regression with reliable automation. The immediate objective was to protect critical quote-to-order journeys covering customer onboarding, service eligibility, product configuration, equipment selection, pricing, discount approvals, quote generation, and order submission.

The organization also needed automation to integrate with its delivery ecosystem across Jenkins, and Azure DevOps. Since the initial automation build was managed by a systems integrator, ease of internal adoption was essential. The final solution had to remain maintainable after the transition, support frequent Salesforce updates, and scale as new products, service plans, customer segments, and regional configurations were introduced.

Automation Challenges:

  • The client was starting from a fully manual testing model with no internal automation framework or specialist automation skill base. Building a traditional scripted framework would have required additional engineers, extensive framework development, and ongoing coding support that did not align with the launch timeline.
  • Quote-to-order validation extended beyond the Salesforce interface. A single journey could involve service-availability checks, complex product and pricing rules, equipment compatibility, approval thresholds, order conversion, APIs, and downstream fulfillment systems. Testing only the user interface would not confirm that the complete business transaction had succeeded.
  • Salesforce Communications Cloud also introduced significant test variation. Customer types, locations, service plans, devices, pricing structures, contract terms, and discount conditions created hundreds of possible combinations. Duplicating automation for every variation would have made the suite difficult to scale and maintain.
  • Dynamic Salesforce components, Lightning UI behavior, asynchronous page loading, and seasonal platform releases created additional stability concerns. Conventional locator-based scripts were likely to break whenever page structures or component attributes changed.
  • Test-data preparation was another bottleneck. Each scenario required the correct combination of customer, address, eligibility, product, pricing, and approval data. Shared or outdated records caused false failures and limited parallel execution.
  • CI/CD execution was fragmented across Jenkins, and Azure DevOps. The team lacked a consistent way to trigger the right regression tests, consolidate results, and determine whether a release was ready for promotion. At the same time, the organization needed to ensure that automation assets created by the systems integrator could be understood and maintained by the internal team.

Benefits

ACCELQ helped the client shift from fragmented manual validation to a unified, scalable automation model designed around real business processes and operational workflows.

illustration point

Faster Salesforce Automation Build-Out

  • ACCELQ’s pre-built Salesforce capabilities and codeless design enabled the implementation team to automate Communications Cloud workflows without building a locator-heavy framework from the ground up. Reusable assets for customer creation, product selection, quote configuration, pricing, approvals, and order conversion accelerated initial delivery and reduced dependence on specialist developers.

End-to-End Quote-to-Order Validation

  • ACCELQ unified Salesforce UI, API, and backend validation within the same automated business flow. The team could configure a service, verify pricing, submit a quote, convert it into an order, and validate the resulting transaction in downstream systems. This provided confidence in the complete business process rather than individual screens.

Resilience to Salesforce Changes

  • ACCELQ’s AI-powered self-healing reduced failures caused by changing Salesforce elements and Lightning components. Seasonal Salesforce updates and application changes no longer required widespread script repair, reducing automation maintenance effort by an estimated 68%.

Reusable Automation Across Product Variations

  • The team created modular business components for customer setup, service qualification, product configuration, pricing, approvals, quote creation, and order validation. These components could be reused with different datasets across customer profiles, products, devices, contract terms, and regional conditions, delivering more than 80% test asset reuse.

Integrated CI/CD Quality Gates

  • ACCELQ was integrated with Jenkins, and Azure DevOps to support deployment smoke tests, targeted validation, nightly regression, and release-readiness execution. Centralized results gave QA, development, and release teams faster visibility into failures and reduced the time required to make promotion decisions.

Sustainable Internal Ownership

  • ACCELQ’s collaborative, codeless interface enabled manual testers, Salesforce specialists, and business analysts to review and extend automation created by the systems integrator. The internal team assumed ownership without inheriting a complex code-based framework, reducing long-term reliance on external automation specialists.

Faster Regression at Lower Cost

  • Parallel, unattended execution reduced priority regression from approximately eight business days to under 16 hours. Automated coverage reached an estimated 78% of critical quote-to-order scenarios, while release-validation effort decreased by 72%. The client also moved from monthly regression toward a biweekly release-validation cadence.
